Brighton Beach

So today,
I headed off into Brooklyn to go to Brighton Beach.
Brighton Beach is like a little Russian community right near Coney Island in New York.
Omigah, this place is AMAZING.
The food is great, the people are nice (well some are but ehh doesn't matter), and the beach is so gorgeous.
The first thing we did when we got there was head off to Starbucks and got a Mango Orange smoothie.
Then we wealked around doing our little project that we had to do, which was take pictures.
We got some piroshkis, which are the meat/potato/anything really stuffed pastries that are greasy, but they're SO FREAKING GOOD. I bought two, but I should have bought more to freeze them and save them for later, but oh well.
And then we did some shopping, of course.
I found this pretty sick store which was filled with a gazillion scarves and I bought one.
It was $12 so I got it.
The owner of the store thought I was an Uzbekistani (is that right?) but I said nahh I'm filipino, WITH PRIDE.
And then we went off to buy some Russian chocolate at this store.
Their chocolate is sooo good.
It's creamy and quite filling.
There were these adorable little old russian ladies sitting on the stairs and we had a little conversation with them.
Then we went off to this pretty big book/gift store where I found a March issue of RUSSIAN VOGUE which was originally like $12 but I got it for $4. WIN.
We had around two hours left so we headed off to the beach and cam whored and chilled.
So much fun and it was so nice.
I thought it was going to rain, but it didn't which is good.
Then we had to go home but we bought ice cream before we left, just like last year.
On the way home, I fell asleep.
When I woke up my frined Holly said that the driver went the wrong way and we passed through Chinatown and Manhattan and throught the Holland tunnel which apparantly took forever.
I was kinda sad thought because I love Chinatown.
Oh well.
We were supposed to get home aroun 4, but I got home around 5:30.
Well here are some pictures for you to enjoy.

March 2010 issue of RUSSIAN Vogue.

Abby Lee Kershaw on the cover. I saw her name in written in Russian and I was like, "I CAN READ THIS."

This was an insane insert in the magazine. Insane.

My prettyful scarf.

Up close. I loved the print and the color.
The next time I go, I'm definitely buying more.
