Is pretty much brand new,
There's a new gym, a new building, new orchestra, band, and chorus rooms, etc.
But it's still under construction.
Since it's still in the process of being built, we have classrooms outside that we call the mods.
When you walk on the mods, it's like walking on a boardwalk so we call it the boardwalk.
(When I say "we", I'm referring to us students).
Anywho, there is no roof on the mods.
So the other day when it was somewhat hailing/snowing/raining, the boardwalk was icy.
When I was walking on this very safe and sturdy boardwalk,
I slip on my knees and glide.
Now, what I don't understand about this school is
a) we paid 72 million dollars for that school
b) it's still under construction
c) we have classrooms outside without a roof over the boardwalk
d) there aren't any tissues or toilet paper
Now in my lovely town, there are other schools too.
There's this one school for 5th graders only.
Cool right?
I happen to talk to some of the fifth graders that go there because I help out a ccd class of fifth graders.
I asked them if they had started this program dalled D.A.R.E. (Drug Alcohol Resistance Education or something like that).
Fifth Grader: "We don't have DARE anymore. We don't have cardio either."
Me: "WHAAA?"
Fifth Grader: "Yeah"
Me: "Why?"
Fifth Grader: "Because we couldn't pay for."
Me: "..."
Seriously?
You're kidding right?
Our town can pay for a 72 million dollar school,
but we can't pay for a simple program to educate the children's minds?
Psh, that program shouldn't even cost a penny.
The kids these days need to know what's going on in life.
I even asked one kid if they knew what pot what was.
The looks on their faces.
'Nuff Said.
